Stefanie Seskin

Stefanie Seskin began her music training at age 9 on flute then guitar then bass.  She sang in a punk band in San Diego and went on to perform with numerous bands in NY as lead vocalist, bassist, back up vocalist, as a member of the horn section (flute, tenor sax)  or a combination of roles in any one band.  In '95, she graduated with an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School in NYC, then formed her band blue number nine.  From then until 2009, she produced, engineered and mixed 4 cd's with the band, created the band's marketing material and artwork, toured up and down the East Coast, to the midwest and back, and performed to audiences up to 7,000 strong. 

Stefanie produced, engineered and mixed recordings for several other NYC based artists and released a self produced solo album "the edge of reason", in 2009.  Her album as well as all of blue number nine's albums are available on Spotify, iTunes and Youtube. Stefanie received the ASCAPlu$ award as songwriter for 9 years.  She appeared as Catalina Winger in MoM: A ROCK CONCERT MUSICAL and also toured with Buzzuniverse and appears on their CD "Live Vibes at the Donegal Saloon" which she also mix engineered.  She has opened for moe., Chicago and the Average White Band.  This is her first script.  Stefanie lives a life without any fears at all with the exception of insects with more than 8 legs.

LaQuinta received a Master’s Degree in performance from Berklee College of Music.  She has toured and performed with dozens of bands in the Midwest and in the New York tri-state area.  LaQuinta wrote the lyrics to the songs in the show and the music in collaboration with Anthony Gemignani (with the exception of three).  She formed the band Bad Ass Beauty in 2014 with then partner Gemignani and is booking agent and promoter for the band.  (BadAssBeauty.net.)  She also runs her own talent agency.  This story (with some embellishment) is influenced by her life story and the life of other women in the music business.

Anthony Gemignani is a multi instrumentalist and producer who graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Music, where he met songwriting partner LaQuinta Prince, and is a national touring guitarist, his main instrument.  He has performed in and written music for several bands and is also a skilled producer.  He is the author of “Adventures of Anthony & Benny”, owns and operates Moxy Guitars, a company which builds custom guitars and basses and is the owner of Allstar Music Empire, “A one stop shop for all things music and more!” He recently released his new album “KimAnthy”, written with his partner Kim Carter. Bekka  Lindström (Director & actor) Most recently appeared as Melissa in MoM: A ROCK CONCERT MUSICAL. Prior to that she played Sister Betsy in AS IT IS IN HEAVEN at the Stonington Opera House in Deer Isle, Maine. She last appeared in the NY Fringe as Lori in THE LIGHTNING FIELD, which then went on to a run in London.  Other New York credits: Medea in A JAR IN THE FOREST (The Samuel French Play Festival); the suffragette Ellen Gates Star in JANE'S HOUSE (The Neighborhood Playhouse); and Sylvia in STACKED (The Bank Street Theater).


Bekka  Lindström is an actor who also makes a living as a graphic artist, even though she’s actually a writer who sings. She also works as a director and set designer.

Jameelah received her B.M. in Opera Performance. Favorite Credits include: Aida (AIDA  ), Ragtime (Sarah), Cinderella (Cinderella), West Side Story (Maria), Heathers (Heather Duke), Twelfth Night (Olivia). She is a recipient of the Lotte Lenya Competition Talent Award and a Hal Leonard Competition Winner. She would like to thank her family & friends for the constant love & support! Enjoy the show!

Peter Douskalis

Peter Douskalis is a musician, arranger, and educator. He is a substitute guitarist at the Broadway shows Dear Evan Hansen and School of Rock and Off-Broadway at Desperate Measures. He has arranged music education materials for Hal Leonard Publications and has given two TEDx Talks about multicultural music education. He plays with the rock band Trapped In Static, Greek music with Pericles Kanaris and Synolon where he is also Assistant Director, Armenian music with Hooshere and Cypriot music with Sounds of Cyprus. His solo jazz guitar CD "The Dance of the Sea" received national and international acclaim in Just Jazz Guitar Magazine, Los Angeles Jazz Scene, Jazz Journal (UK), and Cadence Magazine. He recently toured nationally with Rock icon Petula Clark.  Also performed with Aretha Franklin, Michelle Shocked, Hiram Bullock, The Ocean City Pops, The Washington Ballet, Bad Ass Beauty, Lach and Proper Id , Eagle Eye Sherry, The NY Tenors, and The Sambanditos.

Additionally, Jon is an Outreach Artist for Urban Stages and is a mentor for the Global Academy Youth Orchestra.  He received his B.F.A. in percussion from S.U.N.Y. College at Purchase.  He is a  Paiste Cymbals, DW Drums, Remo heads and Vater drum stick artist.  Jon is the  Inspiration for the Austin Powers character Dr. Evil.  Mike Myers still owes him $75.  More info at www.jonbergerdrums.com

Jon Berger, both a drummer and percussionist, is an extremely versatile musician who loves speaking a wide variety of musical languages. He currently can be heard in Broadway's "Hello Dolly", starring Bernadette Peters, and "Jersey Boys".  Neil Berg’s "100 years of Broadway" and "50 years of Rock" and with Jason Yudoff and the New Hotness.


Jon has played 22 Broadway shows including  "Fiddler on the Roof", "In the Heights", "Next to Normal", "The Addams Family", "Les Miserables", "Cats", "Gypsy", and "Saturday Night Fever".

Eclectic bassist Jeff Ganz has appeared on Grammy-nominated recordings and in concert with many different types of musical artists such as Johnny Winter, Rita Moreno, Gerry Mulligan,  Vanilla Fudge, Laurie Anderson, Roy Buchanan, Village People, Blood, Sweat & Tears, John Lee Hooker, Frankie Avalon, Lou Reed, Chuck Berry, and The Mamas and Papas. Jeff played in the pit orchestras of many hit Broadway shows and has done countless jingles for TV and radio, as well as appearing on ABC’s “Good Morning America” with Stephen Schwartz  and NBC’s “Smash”. Jeff also composes original music for various media. His compositions are heard weekly in Investigation Discovery’s flagship show “On The Case With Paula Zahn”. Pam West is an award-winning singer-songwriter, virtuoso vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, producer, and teaching artist hailing from the Midwest. She has performed as a classical musician, conductor, solo artist, session player, backup singer, rock band frontwoman, and as a children’s performer in a professional career that spans three decades. As a member of the progressive art rock tribute band The Justice League, she has participated in recreations of Jethro Tull’s Thick as a Brick, Genesis’ The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, and the Beatles’ Sgt. Peppers and Magical Mystery Tour albums. Native Bostonian, classically trained singer-turned-songwriter. Performed and toured in Europe, Japan, Scandinavia, the U.K. and New Zealand. Laura now works in print advertising and voiceover. Currently lives in Manhattan, with her cats Chat Noir and Fluffernutter Clownpants.

Lauren Blue started her career as a performer with a varied background of training ranging from contemporary dance, hip-hop, jazz, and ballet. She has performed for ABC Television, MTV, The NBA, and Project Runway. Her early achievements motivated her to fulfill her life’s calling as a choreographer and educator. Lauren currently teaches at the world-famous Broadway Dance Center, at the creative haven Soul Arts Academy, and has taught nationally for Dance Theater USA.  She is also the founder of RebelBlueDanceCO a contemporary fusion dance company based in New York City. As a choreographer, she was recognized as one of New York City’s Young Choreographers and presented at the Young Choreographers Festival at Symphony Space in 2016. Lauren Blue has also choreographed for ABC Television and the Boston Celtics Pre-Show and various venues around New York City.

Kristina earned her B.A. in Theater from Brooklyn College and started off her career with Lincoln Center Institute and continues to work with nonprofit & education organizations. She is a Company Manager at Ping Chong + Co as well as Stage Manager for several of their productions.

She is excited and honored to be working with the Bad Ass Beauty: The Rock Opera team!

Freddie Oliver Moises

Production Manager

Freddie Oliver Moises is a musician, singer songwriter, photographer, poet, lyricist, audio engineer and a theater technician.

 

While a music major at Kean University, Freddie Moises paid for hus education working as a theater technician.

 

In 2012-13, he spent his time at The Barrow Group Theater as a stage hand for “Mom, A Rock Concert” and a sound technician for “Lemon Meringue”.

In 2015 he moved to Jersey City and he attended the Institute of Audio Research (IAR). He now resides in the heights of Jersey City with his beautiful wife Wendy.  

Heather Shields

General Manager

Heather was born and raised outside of Atlantic City in South Jersey. She attended the University of Richmond, studying Vocal Performance and Pre-Law. After working steadily as an actress and singer in NYC, she graduated from Columbia University in 2013 with her Masters in Arts Administration.

As a producer, Heather was most recently represented on Broadway with Bandstand. She is also a producer on the sold-out hit Puffs! now playing at New World Stages. Heather general manages the long-running, downtown sensation BATSU! and recently opened the critically acclaimed BATSU! Chicago. 

Other recent general management projects include A Blanket of Dust, Tune in Time, the award-winning Cloned! (New York Times Critics’ Pick), A Crack in the Ceiling, In the Car With Blossom and Len, and Sandman. Upcoming: Vox Lumiere’s Phantom of the Opera.

Jessica Harris

Jessica Harris is excited to intern at Bad Ass Beauty: The Rock Opera.  She is a sophomore at County Prep High School in Jersey City where she majors in Music & Audio Technology.  Jess enjoys songwriting, painting and learning about music history. She takes piano and guitar lessons and is interested a career in the music industry. She lives in Harrison, NJ with her mother and sister.
